Poetry / NightMoves (Young Rock Star)
Would you believe
ten cents?
(...Hardly cab fare)...
That’s all I remember i have…
that, and one of your photographs;
the one of us
smiling, languid in the
presence of all your fans.
The music makes us smile.
I hope you didn’t hold two fingers
behind my head
in juvenile fashion
That would remind me of the widening gap
between us.
Goodbye my sexually peaking god.
You are so grown up – yet so naive.
The 23 year old young man dressed in
young women.
“Don’t move you could crush one.”
I could
with my bare hands.
With one look -
strangle them -
annihilate them -
disintegrate them.
But they have done it themselves.
They are so young and
know not
who they are.
“Come, my young prince.
It is time to dress you to go.
You are back on the road by midnight
or you become a pumpkin again.
and all your pretty fans –
just doormice…”
“Goodnight Cinderfella.”
