      Darkness Is Nigh

As the world lies sleeping,
and darkness is nigh.
A lone star sparkles brightly,
in the dark winter sky.
Clouds unfold and breezes blow,
deeo blankets of snow cover each bed.
where all of the world’s sould,
lie down their weary heads.
the world sleeps…yet God os awake,
and loks down in silence, eyes aglow.
He stands..a silent sentinel watching,
but how many of the sleeping know?
He stands in the unlit stars and weeps,
for His lost children, lying asleep.
