Poetry / New Page

A conversation, an old wound healed
In so few words, so much revealed
A weight I’ve carried for so many years
And put to rest so many needless fears
The dawn of a new day, something to build on
Hope for the future, my hatred is gone
Brand new outlook, so much hope
Learn how to fly, no longer just cope

I liked this. It comes off as a celebration of sorts for new opportunities, and I could feel the weight of years of uncertainty being lifted off of your shoulders as I read this. I could see the truth in your words born from emotion, and you conveyed that emotion well.

I’m also a sucker for poems that rhyme. What can I say?
