Quotes / Lost love

To lose you is to be an empty seashell, cast ashore by the tide, waiting helplessly to be collected and loved anew, or slowly ground down into sand.

If I could pick one quote that summed up my mood right this minute, this would be what I would pick.
This is a very interesting comparision and the fact that it has two possibilities to be collected or just simply forgotten makes in a better analogy. I personally, never would have thought of that.

Good Job. Well written.

I do like this quote, only one thing, if it were me, I would change, that to me makes it more powerful and inviting, is I would take out or slowly ground down into sand. I feel that waiting to be collected and loved anew is sad, but yet holds a glimmer of hope, for the person you lost may be the one to find you and make your shell complete again. Just a suggestion! Great job, loved it!

This is a very good quote, and very good analogy.

I hope you never lose that person…but that is how it feels when you lose someone. Beautiful quote.

Interesting way to describe it. However I like the make or break element to this all. “ground down into sand” was the best part of the quote, keep it up.

I feel the subject that inspired this quote must be very important if your willing to waste away without them.
I love the honesty, when your not afraid to cast out insecure emotion, makes it much more passionate to me.

Almost poetic. Have you considered the third alternative; to be inhabited by a hermit crab?

Damn, it’s one of the most romentic quotes I have ever read here I like it. If I were a poet, I would write a poem.

hi there,

this is a very good start to a very good poem..i think it’s to long for a quote though..quotes are usually 6-8 words long, for that short but sweet clever saying of some type of knowledge or wisdom..but again, this would make a great poem, i love the way you state how like an empty shell, you get casted away..but find (or someone finds you)..for a new fresh love..very orginal..don’t waste such a good idea and start on a great poem on just a quote..later,,jim

OH IT WAS DEFINATELY CLEAR!
Not hard to miss the pain, the eagerness…BUT!
even though you ‘wrote’ “helplessly” there is still hope!
Hope that one will be “collected” again or “ground down”
regardless…there is hope…
I liked it! Good.
