I think this is a good piece of writing, but it doesn’t sound very lyrical. Think you’d have better luck submitting it as a poem, or adding more verses to it for it to be a complete song.

Title doesn’t fit the lyric. What’s nice is it tells a little story wihtout getting sappy.

Nice image, clever and not corny. The only thing that stuck out was the line about the fire followed by the line about the bell’s toll. Didn’t relate.

Nice short piece. Very interesting. I’m curious to see how this would actually be set to music considering it flows so nicely with little rhyme. Nice.

well it’s a start to a good song, you have to state why the trees are still crying,(and why in the first place) more than your not welcome, time to find my heart’s wings is a nice line that says your trying to move on,with a little developing, who knows..good luck,jim

Very image-laden lines. Love the second verse, the ice/fire line. Excellent end-of-relationship insight. Would like to see this idea expanded.
