Quotes / Winners&Losers

You may think that winners are always the top dog. Winners are superior and are successors. They are admired, and they reign their opponents as well as the stage. The defeated are considered to be losers and insignificant. And yet, without losers how can there be winners? So in overall terms it is the losers that are the most significant.

Though losers ratrher the commoners are in definite majority but the fact remains that this majority counts for nothing. It leads a miserable life,it does not get much of respect and it does not enjoy most of the goods that the civilisation has to offer.Only the extra-ordinary ones make merry. But yes every soul has right to some dignity and compassion.

Well, in general I can appreciate your goal, to get people to think about winners and losers in a different way.  Unfortunately you have several major problems that keep that from happening.  ’Successor’ does not mean what you think it does…  it’s someone who comes after someone else, usually in politics.  ”Raul Castro is Fidel Castro’s successor.”  And one does not “reign their opponents”, but one may “reign over” something or someone.  You need to tighten up your voice and get rid of passivity and lazy language.  (e.g. “The defeated are considered to be losers and insignificant.”  could be “the defeated are losers; insignificant.”  Finally, your biggest problem is that your logic does not hold.  It’s true that there can be no winners without losers, but to then argue that makes losers “most significant” does not follow at all.  At best there is an equality between the two.  The fact is that there are no losers without winners either, so you can just as easily  reverse your claim.  Neither equation makes sense.  However, if you work hard on this, you may be able to recast it in a deep and interesting way.  Good luck.

The best quotes are always short enough to remember.  Succintness: Winners are defined by those who lose.  Readers will fill in the lines.

Wonderful quote, but a bit long winded for something basically stating that there must be balance. Keep up the good work!

That’s an impressively empty circle of logic. It seems to say that winners and losers are actually on the same team rather than competing with each other. There’s truth to it: a cannibal cannot reach the status of cannibal without the support and nourishment of those who died before him. I enjoyed this, though maybe not how you intended.

First of all I would like to say that this quote captivated me from the beginning. There are minor flaws in the punctuation but a good grammar and spell check can put those straight in the end. This quote makes me think, it provokes questions that would not have been aroused otherwise it creates an explosion of all normal creativity senses and adds new exciting veiws. Outstanding.
