26 years old, English/Creative writing major , began writing at nine. Love Emily Dickinson, Denise Levertov, Robert Frost, Allan Ginsberg, Andrei Codrescu, etc, etc. I find comfort and release in writing, and have always done it for my own sake. Just recently have I started putting my work ‘out into the world’. I guess we’ll see how that works out for me.

the great equalizer of the final frontier - quiet as the hawks and harriers sent to carry our bones to the bed we have made (go to sleep and good night, there is no need for mourning) the mute seraph white stork stole your soul gave you to gaia (a biennial bairn) for her costume garden the mathematicians and realists and bankers wonder if there is an art to dying the zealots and baptists and mormons are deifying their casserole allegories the extent of language - narrowed by the egotists what...

cleverly stale reference guides aspire to inspire Stanza upon Stanza obligating me to starve among the settled provinces of Theme and august Verse- wanton and green sorrel thirsty sonnets cloned from a reverie that some long-haired poet had long ago The muse. she seeks the marrow of both abstract and carnal Aching Naked I tarry

The setup of rooms in catalogues Makes me envy The folks who’ll spend quiet New England Autumns Wrapped up in the dusk Of another loose fitting day Carefully sipping comfort From the awry crafts Engineered with enthusiasm somewhere in The Adirondacks reading books of poetry in a lofty stillness woven with the vague incense of patchouli and tangerines oh how I admire the clean, crisp lines of a well tailored resume

On a lover's day my feet are still and my charm left unpursued because in the hills of another town I am too easily forgotten Blameless with such scenery as yours Here I wait to be lifted back onto your sacred horse The face of a woman hides the child that's inside I am no revolutionary with golden shoes and an optimistic voice I have only this Bohemian obsession with simplicity I will show you how to translate the sanskrit of a woman's emotion or at least my own Worthlessness worn like a bus...

history does have a tendency of repeating itself. i really liked reading this. the redundancy was calming. overall, i thought it was very good.
Poetry / Crayon
Overall I thought it was good. Not sure if I entirely like the repeated 'chorus', but I definitely like the choice of words you went with. I also like the structure of 4 line stanzas (or shall I say the cages you speak of). Didn't really get the strong connection this piece had to flowers.
Poetry / Him
I like how realistic you are in your word selection. Using simple terms, you accurately convey an intense physical encounter, I could feel that trickle of sweat. I would, however, suggest that maybe you should try changing the 'soft and gentle' when describing his kiss. It takes away from the choppiness that works well in this piece.
Beautifully executed. Wonderful use of imagery. I especially like the 'magnetic colors'. Interesting and compelling throughout. It slowed a bit at the end, but not enough to sway my high regard for this work.
Poetry / As IF
Be sure to check your spelling throughout, as I noticed more than one error.I love the language you've used in places, very melancholy and peaceful. I am not someone who needs to see a concrete storyline when reading poetry, more about the feeling the words convey. I'd say the last stanza could be worked on. I am not sure I entirely like the way you have described the snow.
