twenty two year old working too much, avoiding the inevitability of having to finish school in the hopes of finding a career involving some sort of creative outlet so that i won’t constantly loathe work like everyone i know seems to (actually i do like the work i’m doing now, just foodservice but friends at work make it tolerable, but i think i’m getting along towards being fed up). big proponent of not praying/hoping for something you aren’t sure you want. mostly because of the amazing amount of shit i have had to deal with in a short amount of time after a summer full of boredom because of recovery from surgery.
all in all, hopeful and attempting to avoid cynicism, although my writing may not reflect it, i do love people in ge…

wake with one word walk without grace stilled speech spilling to your feet on the walk down canal street see another bit of free life when crossing the street see another wish another bouncing wispy bit of smile colored the shape of concrete wandered up through mindless manic passages yet forgotten to use the turnstile faultless sightless eyes not showing any thoughts nor any bit of desire rushing to judgement looking in a mirror you can't resist calling him a liar ------------------------ i ...

i would keep coming to that point, where it felt like your eyes were about to fall out, the second before tears. and the spraypainted mantra of the crumbly walled room, hazy from cigarettes, or maybe the room had finally caught fire, the spraypainted mantra kept coming back, slurring off into a pile which likely contained a can of black spraypaint and the perpetrator of the impromptu mural. "l'audace, l'audace, toujours l'audace", a tingly little statement that felt great to utter seconds bef...

i appreciated the overall feel of this piece, but it did take a few minutes after finishing to get to that. directly afterwards i was a bit put off by the repetitive sense of the text and the overly dramatic tone the narrator gives off. however after only a minute or two i realized that was the intention of the writer to impart both of those things through the narrator. i'm interested as to where it would go from here, and glad to have read this. -chris
amazing imagery, i especially am fond of the last few lines. if anything i would have to find fault in the repetition of form throughout, but in reality i was entranced with it and taken in with the ease of the words. i would like perhaps a description of the tired smile of a last dance or something of the sort, maybe not so much of an abrupt ending, but i did enjoy the piece. -chris
great writing, i was disappointed to see it end. the visceral details really do an amazing job at putting you into the story. i'd actually expect this to be part of a synopsis for a film noir movie or something similar. needless to say, great job and i'll look forward to more. -chris
the images conveyed in this work are powerful, but i think even more so than the subject of this work, you are a bit too enamored with seemingly poetic turns of phrase. it tends to get repetitive and does little to add to the story itself. like i said, however, the images in their raw form are very powerful.
great writing, the ride in the truck felt amazingly real, all the things described leaped out and had a real sense of the quiet that must have been felt by both characters. i think the abrupt ending kinda caught me wrong, although thinking about it again, it does convey the right kind of non-resolution this situation always seems to end up in. -chris
