Hey guys, what’s up? I’m on here because I love to write stories (obviously), as well as poetry and other things. I’m hoping to someday publish a book, but until then I’m in college working on getting a Master’s in Biomedical Science and a Degree of Veterinary Medicine. That’s right, I want to be a vet. Hopefully one of these days I’ll be able to write a book and live up to James Herriot’s standards. Well, that’s about all. Peace out.

Logan was a quiet kind of kid who wore khaki pants and a collared shirt, complete with a pocket protector every single day of his miserably nerdy life. Today, he stood in front of his closet, just like every other day, staring at his collection of blue shirts that were all exactly the same color, size, and style. Then he moved to the tie, which inevitably depicted a picture of a computer, Garfield or some frighteningly gaudy design. After dressing, taking one final look at his poster of Albe...

A car backfires outside of Maverick Stangetti’s residential Colorado home and, for the millionth time, he has to force himself not to flinch and flatten himself to the ground in a crouch. He is sixty-one years old now. I really gotta get over this, he thinks to himself. Vietnam ended a long time ago. Maverick, or Mav, as all of his war buddies had called him, is about five feet, eight inches tall. In his prime, he was five feet and ten inches tall, but time has taken its cruel toll on his bo...

First of all, I love the title of your piece. Very appropriate and very true. This line, is priceless: "I cannot tell you how far gone I am but I know there’s something sick about hearing sounds like sexual ecstasy escaping one's lips over a cup of coffee." I loved that. Very humorous. Great ode to coffee as well. It is the only thing that makes mornings worthwhile, after all. Very good, humorous satire. I enjoyed reading it and think you did a great job writing it. Also, this isn't exactly r...
Ha ha! I love it. It really captures the emotion of someone who tries too hard for years trying to please everyone else, then wakes up and realizes that it's not worth it and they should just . . . stop. And relax. Well worded and well written.
I like this, I think it well-sums up not only what many authors feel about their work, but what many people feel about themselves. Very well put.
