I’ve recently published my first novel, “Adios, Tobias Griffin” and have come across Urbis.com via the myspace community.
I like the color blue, I make my own pizza, and I enjoy dancing in the middle of the night in my underwear while drinking teguila.

Life Lessons #43: Step out of line, before you get lost. ~ Diddo Gumdrops AMONGST the silence, I wiggle a “hello” from the toes of my feet, reminding myself that I’m still alive. My cell phone mocks my very existence, sitting idle on top of the coffee table, making effortless glitches to inform me that it’s still powered “ON.” It doesn’t ring. It doesn’t vibrate. Not even a monotonous beep to let me know a text has come in. I’m waiting ...

THIS…HERE…is a horror story. One in which you can’t come home from, striving forward to warn the dignity of the world with an empty carton of cigarettes. Do you smoke?   Unfortunately for you I don’t. All things considered, however, when one must one will.   The sweet stench of lung cancer and emphysema swirl the air around us, filling in the gaps of space and time with warm weathered words of hope and malcontent. There is a whisper of a life that I can&rs...

In the beginning there are still a few phone calls, talks of what went wrong and how things could be different. You still want to be friends, we all say it, but for the most of us we don’t actually follow through with it. If we can’t be friends that’s just stupid, but for whatever circumstances we face there is just no point in denying the fact that if you find someone else before I do, I’ll be pissed. And if I find someone else before you do, you’ll be ...

I flip the lights on and turn south. South because my mind forgets to ask the question why south makes sense. South because south is somewhere far away from the here right here. And south because I can’t give myself a good reason to stop and turn around when I’ve run out of road that’s going west. So, I go south. I run into an interstate and my mind is so focused on just getting away from it all that I jump on it, wherever it may be going, and I keep driving. When you&rsqu...

Poetry / Know Not
This is a very nice poem and it's message is very clear. I like the sound it makes while reading it. It is refreshing, and simpathetic. My cousin died from cancer at the age of 28, so I know how it feels, and what it means to realize how special life is while we have it.

I loved the story from beginning to end. The pun was set perfectly, and in line to the story's conclusion. Your pace was good, your lines well set. I fell into a few bumps that slowed me down a bit, but all in all this was a great read.

This is a great piece. You capture your topic extremely well. The sound is vibrant, the flow on spot, and the pace is quick, pointy, changing when it needs to. You slow it down at the end, bringing home the peom in a very professional manner while keeping the passion of the subject alive. Very good work.
