I’ve been writing for more than a dozen years, and I’m improving every day (because I was crap when I started). Not published yet because I prefer long fiction and have been working on novels, but I’ve had several offers and been recognized by several major organizations, including the American Academy of Poets.

I liked this, though I do have some issues with it. You describe it as "a short outpouring of [your] changing feelings," and I think it falls short of that, but I do think it very poignantly describes the situation, which I actually like more. I like the image of the words falling on an open line and that I know this was a long-distance relationship without your actually saying so, but I'd like to see you develop it.
