The Flesh No flesh shall be spared Phantom silk whispers hide in blankets of the night, folds and scores of echoes fading under the press of howling sirroco song Layers of milky white fog bathe the world with gossamer embraces, hazy silouhette memories Beneath battered brains lurk lingering shades of thought, dripping scattered wind chanty dreams of life which lay languid, lavished along laconic stream beds; moderate monuments to moments metered in the noon day sun pass with the coming of aft...

The Lay of Two Oak Hill- -.I.- Codex ex Odyssea I quest now, always, deeper within these further barriers to secular driven juxaposition, amongst further coasts and fens for the heath and heather of our hearts, beating in time -A spoke in the wheel, a hub, an empty space that still drives the same cycle in time with the larger revolution of the greater axis- And I remain, everymans dime in the larger pocker, seeking grander deeds amongst the pocket lint of now and then, dreaming of Byzantium ...

Chapter I- The morning was crisp, the air still early morning pure when an SUV pulled into house number 15 of Turtledove Lane. Dawn's first gentle kiss in the east still lay as a promise over the rest of the day; robins and bluebirds only beginning their first forays into the daily food forage. A lone fat squirrel ran quickly from the house's bird feeder to the relative safety of a nearby elm from which it could properly rebuke the driver of the vehicle as he emerged. Michael Heyden walked co...

Three David was nearing the Jacob's house, letting his two horse team take their time along the way, basking in the sun as the mind replayed his final rendezvous with Harriet. It had been so much..well sweeter than any other time since their first. That had been a fumbling experience though, she experienced and he nearly mortally embarrassed at his ineptitude. This had been covered in the lost sweetness of melancholy, the full knowledge of his impending engagement and the continental inevitab...

Poetry / Not Today
Despite not being a natural poet, maybe you have a little Stephen Dobyns in you anway. Its classic rhyme pattern is reassuring, and its use of fear of the future (ie 'hiding from the burdens of today...uncertainty and hope in a man unknown...my desire hides from grace) is well offset by the basically (to me anyway) optimistic tone each end stanza has (ie place warmed by gentle hand...i cannot go there, at least not today. It could do with a little window dressing, but thats probably the Yeats...

Lyrics / just words..
I like the lyrics, strictly as a song, not sure why you have the other two criteria in there. The lyrics are a bit complicated for the title... "my head is in the clouds, i say gravity is hapless..."as they shine through on this easel made of madness" stuff like that, leaves the READER, not the imagined listener, wonder where you're going with the beat, ya know, is it rock, is it sort of hip or trip hop, stuff like that. I like the lyrics, they're full of imagery which is always my major thin...
