It`s late and you`re lying in your bed tossing and turning, feeling unsettled. You haven`t slept in a few nights, and you`re realizing that what`s been haunting your soul and making your heart ache is "HER". Your mind is racing , your body is sweating and your breathing is short, quick, and labored. You feel as if your heart is going to stop if you don`t escape and find "HER", the woman who has has captured your heart, mind, body and soul. Finally, you can`t stand the torment any longer. Slow...

I am not familiar with spoken word, so I had to read the poem a few times. The poem was written with so much passion, anger, love and finally realization. My confusion came at the end. If the man and woman caused so much friction with one another why stay for so long? Did he want it all back? Would love to see the performance. I think that I would come away with a different perspective.
I love the play on words especially the last sentence. I had to read it a few times before I understood that Laura is an individual with her own way of living life. I would love to read more.
Beautifully descriptive of a friend. I like the way you are able to capture her calming personality in this sentence "Making mountains into molehills." A friend truly to be treasured.
I am a little confused. The piece starts about breaking the spell. The spell of what? Are you referring to women being in abusive relationships and the children seeing this, not understanding until they are older and repeat the cycle?
