I’m a girl who loves to write. Anything. Poetry, lyrics, stories, essays – anything. I write about anything of my imagination, or anything of my experience. I write about what touches me, whether for the good or the bad. Finding this site was a blessing – I share much of my work with friends and family, but it’s difficult to get an opinion from them that isn’t biased. Though I have written for a long time, I know that I am continually growing as a writer and can always be improving.

I love reading poems that are strung together in the form of many haikus. I feel that the first six lines are the most impactful, however. That is not a bad thing, but in contrast with the rest of the poem, the first lines blow the rest of it out of the water. Also, I believe it would have carried more weight if the format was separated into verses.

The format of this poem is very unique and interesting, and it is written quite well so that it doesn't obstruct the rhythm and flow at all. The writing is also full of beautiful imagery that touches the senses and the spirit in a way that should be hard for words alone to do.
I have nothing against rhyming poetry. But the problem with rhyme is that it can be difficult to keep it constantly flowing in a good rhythm. It's very easy to create lines that end up sounding forced, rather than flowing smoothly in a good rhythm. Many rhyming poems end up built around the rhyme, instead of the other way around - and that is what seems to have happened here. The last two lines, however, carry much of the weight of the poem. This poem really touched my soul; the words are formed together in such eloquence, placed with care to form an amazing picture of the emotions one feels when they read this. The way it can connect with the reader is of so much importance in itself.
