Remember the boy that he use to be, All the innocence wrapped up in the colors of a dream, Everybody's mistake and nobody's son, The unfinished song and the puzzle undone, An introspective view from the wrong end of a gun, Bowed into the sunset before the day had begun, Bring in the shroud to cover his face, Veil the sky and put the stars away, Like a beautiful promise that will never fade, Locked away in your heart shaped box, Keep the memories safe from regret and pain ; How the hand of fat...

I pick up the phone it's closing time, Come take this familiar stray away, It's been an hour since they could hold a steady drink, They pay the bill and suffer silent, So we don't mind helping them dig the grave, But we draw the line at stumbling out into the wide unsafe ; When they've put to quiet the inner riot They begin to call your name, Between the self recriminations And the chances they've let go to waste, They keep your number and a faded photograph Between the lint and pocket change...

There's a little boy inside me, He's quiet and he's hiding, Always watching in wonder...this world, Laughing at the antics... Of confused human frantics... Amazed at the cruelty they unfurl, No shame or restraint, In their circuses of hate, And the animals they allow themselves to become, It would be so easy for him, To go out and play amongst them, But he saves his bravery for better days... And so he waits ; Out of the shadows, He reaches his little hand, And slowly takes one cautious step,...

Great use of vocabulary and wordplay. The analogies left ample room for personal interpretation and perspective. The flow and construction were well done and easy to follow. In my perspective I had a sense of "Tattoo" or being tattoed as the foundational subject matter, yet it left room for other readers to find other avenues of personal apperance identification as well. This is as well written poetry should be. The choice of metaphores in the opening lines were well inspired and encouraged ...
Lyrics / The Widow's Coin
Stunning use of classic vocabulary and wordplay. The storyline kept me interested and pushing forward to the end. I think these lyrics would best suit more ethreal artists like Kate Bush, Sarah McG, Tori Amos, but could also by attractive to gothic performers as well, along the lines of Siouxie Sioux and the Cure. You created some interesting imagery and the metaphores where likewise captivating. It created a slight uneasy feeling atmosphere, of course this is my own personal perspective. You...
Lyrics / Never Fit In
Interesting piece. The construction and flow provided ample room for musical application. The subject matter allows for a wide range of musical genres and so would be usable by a variety of musicians. I believe this part... "Apathetic force of bad habits cut like splintered shards It’s become a living, mind twisting, hard-wired reaction To everybody else’s actions that is tearing me apart" ...displayed a very good use of wordplay and metaphorical vocabulary which is always a good thing as it...
