As a poet and writer, I often use the name Poet Revelations. I have been writing creatively since my youth. Currently, I live in the Metro Atlanta (US) area, and freelance when I’m not frequenting open mics or teaching Christian writers how to write under the anointing of God. I am a solid believer who is not ashamed of her faith and who absolutely lives and breaths poetry. I joined this group to get honest feedback, meet other poets and writers, and to just have fun.

JESSE'S JOURNEY HOME PROLOGUE Sand stung my legs and dust clouded around me as daddy's old, weathered and word maroon station wagon made a u-turn and sped from the driveway. Teary eyed, I jumped up and down - almost stumping - frantically waving my hands and screaming, "Daddy! Please Daddy! Don't leave me!" I felt this hole in my heart as he stopped briefly at the driveway's end, and then exited onto the main road. I knew he could see me. The station wagon made a loud screeching noise. I stoo...

Owning and operating a radio station was perhaps the furthest thing from the mind of 36-year-old entrepreneur James Green when God first dropped the concept in his spirit. But like many of us, he sat on the idea until the passion to develop the idea grew so strong that he could no longer deny it. The idea interrupted his sleep, kept his mind focusing on strategies and tactics, until he sat down and wrote the vision just as God had placed it in his heart. With support from his wife Linda, he u...

I cry for them. Babies and mothers cradled on mats in dark corners of shanties in countries scorched and shunned by color and war, violence and disease They suffer needlessly in silence unseen, as hope lies in the hands of able nations holding medicine viles and knowlege by purse strings that could bring death to its knees -- if not for politics and joy to widows -- who have already lost so much and orphans whose -- whose lives are now overshadowed by fear. I cry for them. From a distant land...

I see him … dangling from the precarious heights of the building’s edge. 22 stories in the sky. It’s familiar to him. Yet today, he hangs on as a stranger. If he could hear me from the ground below, I’d tell him that once he’d tasted the goodness of God – I mean, really tasted it .. It would be hard for him to go back to the Brick and mortar Glass pains and silicon from Times past I’d tell him that Returning to the tenants in this old building Fused with old beliefs and An old outlook on life...

“Fear, loneliness, pain and rejection had become my faithful companions,” wrote Evangelist Millicent Ellis in an excerpt from her book, Running Toward Life: Released from the Outskirts of Living. “As I looked down into the land of the living, they paralyzed me with thoughts of hopelessness. Rejection raised its ugly head and said, ‘The living will never welcome you.’” As far as Millicent Ellis was concerned, she had been running away from life for more than 40 years. Internally, she had died ...

OH WOW! to say I am impressed is not enough. I LOVED THIS POEM! There are so many vivid images here, and its flow is rhythmic and honest ... I saw a man snoring ... and every element (at least to me) represented interrupted sleep. And the title, by the way, is very fitting. I'm loving today ... the poetry I'm reading so far is very, very, good.
WOW! I'm left thinking about abortion from an entirely fresh perspective. Not only is this poem well-written, but it evokes a full range of emotions from the readers. In addition, you wrote it from the child's perspective. I've seen many writers attempt this approach unsuccessfully. But here ... I think you hit the mark. I would be first inline to say that this piece is controversial. Surely everyone has their opinions on this issue ... including me. You gave your friend, I pray, a good reaso...
Oh, this is good. The imagery here is phenomenal to me. I could picture every scene you painted here. The other thing about this piece that I like is its uniqueness. This woman, through your descriptions, came a live to me. I met a classy woman who has lived a vibrant life, yet had a side to her that was a little bit, well, different. This is crafty, and well written in my opnion.
