I have a lot to say. The problem, I have discovered, comes in finding the best way to say it. Fortunately, as a writer, I can allow my work to speak for itself. I hope, in reading, that you find that it does just that.
For anything specific, just drop a note and ask. Other than that, thank you for reading.

Chewing gum - gum chewed until flavor lost and forgotten while the memories of your taste still linger betweeeeeenn my teeth as I keep chewing, chewing, chewing until my jaw hurts and head aches and now I'm no longer chewing alone but chewing and fighting to remember the flavor, that longer lasting, new and improved flavor that you always promise but I can never set apart or make out from the last piece I tore to shreds with my teeth and wrapped around my finger tips to leave sticky stains on...

She wonders whats on TV, but doesn't care enough to leave her cocoon of blankets and shadowed rooms to find out Even though that with the press of a button, she could be tuning in and tuning out that which, lately, has left her so unsatisfied. She could be living their lives, the self-proclaimed "better-thans", from the safety of her unmade bed, but tonight she just can't find the strength to live vicariously any longer. She could flip through the channels and find a life she'd love to lead, ...

It feels later than nine-thirty. I laugh because it’s nine-thirty and I’m sitting. Sitting on a Saturday night, senescent and spacey, with a head full of dreams and a heart full of words too long and too complicated to write down. With a past in the wind and a future on the other side of a cracked window pane covered by the curtains you left when you left me behind, I’m sitting in a room on a Saturday night, sitting in a room with a view of the world below, a room invaded by the sounds of the...

Looking back, I should have known who you were, in that moment, you poured your vodka into a glass full of my heart shaped ice cubes and drank it down with one swallow - a lush drunk from cheap, stale liquor destined to swallow everything and leave only my (fresh) frost covered heart behind.

Sometimes I like to rescue my favorite books from the dusty back shelves and leave them in the unexpecting, uneducated sections of the bookstore for illiterate strangers to discover. There's a naive hope, I suppose, in this relocation of mine - a dream that someday someone will chance upon the very words my lips uttered and heart fell in love with and change the way they read this cold chapter of the never-ending, unforgiving novel we live in. No, maybe that's just the s(h)elf righteous in me...

I don't know if I'm just not getting it, but I'm not sure how this fits in with the other excerpt from The Book of Jenna. Is this a variety of short stories or one solid story? I'm thinking it must be a variety, because this one feels very different to me.
Great characters in this. I could see everything in my mind. I love the "BAA BAA" license plate...like, Baa Baa Black Sheep??? Or did I miss it completely? Either way, great read. Held my attention and interest the entire way through.
I don't think you need the last line, the ending would be more powerful if you just left it as "reality hasn't a chance." But then, I can see how that might change the direction or message you want this piece to make, so it's just a suggestion. Either way, nice work. I like this one.
Beautiful. One thing and one thing only, you might consider revising the line "...as the cat attacks cutting off his song" to something like "as the cat attacks to cut off his song". Just a suggestion, I think it depends on writer's preference. I love this piece.
Interesting, original perspective and voice in this piece. I like it. Nice work.
