When I was seven years old my mom met a man. He was sweet and caring, and promised he would leave us, never, he ruined my life forever. It started out good enough, sweet gestures and candy kisses, trips to the zoo and at times, even red balloons. I was actually happy. Mommy laughed and mommy smiled, both she had not done in a while. I was so arrogant to think it would last. The screaming started and the fists flew, she covered bruises, and always had an excuse. With time, this allowed for eve...

It's raining. It's been raining for two days now and will continue to rain for the rest of the week. I'm locked in my room with little else to do than listen to the falling pellets of water hitting the floor right outside my window. I'm locked in my room because my parents find this the appropriate way to deal with my coke addiction, that had me placed in the hospital due to an overdose just two days prior. I'm silent now. I wasn't silent an hour ago. I screamed and kicked and clawed at the d...

“It hurts.” She cried, I think I saw a tear her smile gradually faded but still no one came near. “I want to die.” She yelled, hoping someone would hear they all abandoned her, they didn’t care. “Please help me.” She begged as she fell to the ground they walked over her, never looking down. “I’m sorry, I can’t go on.” She whispered and pressed skin to knife. “How did she die?” He asked after years had passed. “She took her own life.” “She thought no one cared,” he said looking at the ground. ...

That’s right, leave. Pull your pants up without looking me in the eyes and leave like an injured dog with its tail securely tucked between its legs. Don’t worry about me, I’m used to being left rejected in the morning. I know this game-lovemelovemeloveme- until you get what you want, then leave me broken and telling myself that I should have known better in the morning. I’ll shove my feelings in my pocket and wash them away with the dirt stain on my left leg. It may take a few washes, but wit...

I like what you have, but I feel like more can be done with the poem. You do a good job telling us what you feel but maybe you can show us - if that makes sense. I guess what I am saying is, I would like you to go deeper into your thoughts, ect. But overall, I liked this. Sorry you have to live asking yourself this question. It is a hard question to live with.
This is a really good poem! The comparisons you use really bring out her need to pee. I practically felt her full bladder - very nicely done. What I liked most about this poem is the structure. It seems very go with the flow, but you don't let it run off topic; you keep it very focused. good job :)
Very well done. I really liked the lines: "You’re spilling cheap wine all over your future." That line really describes what is occuring to person who is going through this struggle.
It seems like a really good idea. I am slightly confused about the alternate ending. Is Anna still conning Janice? You said she pulled out bags nearly identical to the one used in the con, does that imply that she is atoning for what she did and giving Janice the fair share of her money? Or is it all still part of the con? That part seems a little confusing to me. Also, all three people giving up their possesions like that seems a little too imaginary. I know Charlie and Anna are doing it for...
