You wrote me this letter telling me how ‘he’ was no good for me and how you would treat me better. You knew you couldn’t really do anything more than satisfy me for a moment as a result of your thoughtfulness. You couldn’t literally mean what you said in those pages, you were married and your wife my friend. Surely, you were just trying to bring comfort because you were tired of watching me get hurt. I read the letter in the bathroom stall where I wouldn’t be int...

You knew you couldn’t really do anything more than hope my spirits were lifted by you thoughtfulness. I love you no matter what. Are you listening? I am there whenever you need me. Just call. Whenever you need a friend. A bridge over troubled waters. I'm here. When you cry, I will wipe your tears and listen to what bothers you. I will not judge you, never. I am your friend. So is my Father. Love Jesus

With love in my heart and tears in my eyes, I grieve with you. No words can express what you feel, cause a Mother's love can't be measured. God knows and God cares for you as you deal with your loss. God does everything decently and in order. He makes no mistakes. Know that this is part of His perfect plan. Know that He has placed special Angels around you to lean on. As you go through this time I have you and your family in my prayers God gives strength to those who need it, God gives te...

I think you are on your way to good piece here. Here are my observations. Wherever you put 'The Company' in your writing keep it consistent. Let us know when you are flashing back to the time before he was in the hospital. The sentence "With his slim hope crushed, we was devastated"-could be written as, 'With this news his slim bit of hope was crushed. (this would tell us he was crushed without saying the word)Where you wrote 'clothes disheveled far beyond acceptable limits detailed in The Co...
I understand what you are saying in this piece. It's deep, terminally. I suggest commas for effect.
I agree with you and I also see that I have to do a better job of reviewing other's work. This craft needs to be taken seriously or not at all. For a lot of people this is a way of life and for someone not to take them seriously is saddening. So I take this venting seriously because it is stressful not to be heard and it's harder when what someone says is difficult to hear. Does that make sense?
You talked for a while about how you would get the dog you saw on your way to work into the car. I thought you had gotten him into the car because you said, "Wouldn't you know it, he jumped right in." Then you said that you didn't stop, you saw his smashed little body in the sewer and you got it from there. This information is a little confusing. Could you clarify this some how? I like that you have two stories that go along with your title-the stopping for the dog and stopping smoking.
