Wow, this poem is so filled with emotion. I know that sounds cliche, but for so few words, I'm amazed at what it evokes. "Day by day" is a wonderful transition. It seems like it's at the end of "so I never could say" and also at the beginning of "I wait in hope". Love it!

A very interesting way to look at children, I hadn't thought of them as "evolution at work", but I like it. Truly each generation pushes human life forward in many ways. I like the poem very much, but is this line "Dragons to challenge even this new super-race", supposed to be "Dragons to challenge even in this new super-race", the word "in" added? Because it sounds akward, not sure why. A picky thing I know, but it kind of stood out at me, really no big deal.

This poem presents nice imagery of what appears to be a solemn moment in time. I like the cadence of the piece, it's short but works well.
