I am a young, unpublished female writer in my early 20s.
I am currently working on a series of short stories, based on my own life, that are told from different perspectives and shoot around in the time of the central character.
My main influences are JD Salinger, DH Lawrence, Ray Bradbury, and Virginia Woolf.
I have been writing seriously for the last ten years, and am fairly prolific. Along with short stories, I have been working on a memoir of my adolescence for the past three years and have almost completed a memoir of my travels with my father. I write a lot of poetry and lyrics (for my band).
Again, I hope you find my work interesting and enjoyable, because that’s why I do it, that, and I just love creating it!

Mark watched her as she cleared the dishes. Her body seemed to sweep across the floor. She grabbed plates and glasses all at once, loading herself up like an artful waitress. She talked all the while, and though he responded, he was not listening. She put him in a trance; he almost wanted to laugh at her bustling. She piled the dishes by the sink and turned on the faucet, talking loudly over the heavy stream of water. He smiled behind her. She was strong with wide hips, but had a surprising d...

A young woman stepped into the room. Her expression would give the impression that this was some kind of false place of security, a kind of cave she had made for herself in an area she was unfamiliar with. She wore a coral shirt and a kind of light green pant. She had a casual appearance, but not shabby. Her bangs were parted just so, her nails filed squarely and kept long – to her it was strange to feel the skin of her fingertips against things – and though her make-up was barely detectable,...

There is a man on either side of me on this plane. We're flying to Chicago. From there I'll fly to Washington D.C. The man in the window seat said one thing to me as I sat down, "Lucky you." He has since fallen asleep and I'm assuming he will be so until we land. He has a fairly attractive profile, though I can't speak for what he looks like straight on. I've learned that the two don't necessarily go together. He looks to be in his late thirties, early forties. He's married, or was and hasn't...

I liked the emotions you brought in this poem. They are explored, but not spelled out, which I think is good. Possible typo, "hurts more that I thought"... "hurts more THAN I thought"? Keep it up. It's a simple poem, and I really like that.

an intense piece. the narration is interesting and descriptive. it is good as a solitary piece, but i couldn't help but feel like it would fit better in a piece that delves more into these ideas. perhaps more description of the smells and the people. it could fit well in a series involving this central character or perhaps an opposing view of the "crackheads", etc.

i really enjoyed this poem. the descriptions are very real and i can picture myself with the character. i hate to point out grammatical errors in poetry, but just in case, "Smoke’s in the air Mingled with, Warm tapped beer" i'm not sure there should be a comma after "with". if you want a pause, consider a break or a dash. i'm not sure. another one that caught my attention was "the termed 'hate fuck.'" was this a typo for "term"? but as i said, great imagery and a job well done! :)
