This was a very nice, succinct piece that has a great message for women. I work in the field of therapy and can tell you that what you described fits many single women I have seen. It is more than a problem for some women, it can be devastating. I would love to read the rest of this book to see if it would be a good homework assignment for my clients.
I love the voice of toilet paper being the focal point of this writing. I guess I'm just having a hard time with toilet paper being ok with shit, but having a problem with spit! Then in the end, it does seem to have a problem with not only spit, but bugers and shit balls. I think you have a great format here, but I would rework it into a critique of the host. You know, the vantage point from the shit wiper on what needs to be fixed with the host. You hinted in this direction by saying 'I don'...
I would say the ending isn't elusive enough, as it appears very laid out as to what happened. I didn't dislike your writing style, but elements of it detracted from your abilities as a writer. In other words, I think you're a very good writer, I think some of your dialect distracts from your writing, rather than enhancing it. This is a very heartfelt piece, and was hard to get through. That is a testament to your writing. I would have liked to have more details about Ben, your time with him, what kind of child he was, etc. Possibly this is out of context of the rest of your manuscript that goes into those details, if so, forget what I said.
