Last night as I was pulling ward duty with the babies, I noticed an odd sensation. It was about 3:57 a.m., and I seem to recall hovering lucidly with a half empty bottle over 3 month old Haley's crib. It was then that I realized that the tune to "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" and "Baa Baa Black Sheep" is one and the same. To me, the expression "Feeling like putty" sounded somewhat adolescent in nature and gave me an impression that this piece would go in a slightly lighter and/or more whimsical direction than it did, like the term "Silly Putty" might indicate. Obviously, I was wrong, but I liked the direction it went. It seemed to be evocative and sensual while still managing to remain tastefully ...
Pretty disturbing pictures painted in my head, especially the "entrails/barber shop bit, reminded me a bit of the Tool "Sober" music video. The narrator's voice seemed genuinely tortured, full of anguish, which reminded me a bit of the vibe I get when reading Edgar Allen Poe, or Joseph Conrad's Kurtz from "Heart of Darkness" (or watching a Tool music video.) I would have liked to have heard these 3 distinct voices blended together rather than apart, so that maybe the tone wouldn't quiver as m...
It is a bit cheesy, but amusing in a poignant "Cry Out For the Arts," sort of way. Not bad.
