“The road to happiness lies in two simple principles; find what interests you and that you can do well and put your whole soul into it – every bit of energy and ambition and natural ability you have.”

Dark, hooded figures lurking in the shadows that surround. Nightmarish screams in the distance, such an unearthly sound. Only evil dares breathe life into this charred, decomposing soul of mine. Death, deceitful and cruel, led to believe my misery would subside. Incarcerated within these walls of torture and pain. Fire overwhelming, coming down like rain. My sins shackled to me to carry throughout eternity. Salvation non-existent. Inescapable damnation engulfing me. &...

"Oh Lola, what have you done? What have you done? No, no, no! Dear God why? Why did you do it? Why, why, why?" Ivette whispered to her over and over as she rocked her gently back and forth like a mother does when she is trying to put her baby to sleep. Except Ivette was not holding a baby , per se. Instead she was holding her baby sister's lifeless body closely and tightly to her chest. Ivette had been sitting ...

I have said the most unthinkable; reached the most unreachable; done the most improbable, just to be called the most despicable. I have lived most deplorably; gave up my true identity; lost all of my integrity, only to remain true to you, you see. You are my addiction, my most powerful obsession, my most beautiful affliction, my sole intellection. Why must you be so dangerous, your effects so vicious, your slaves so numerous, most of them remain anonymous. You are so corrupting, downrigh...

The tighter I tried to hold on to you, the more I felt like I was losing my grip. Sweet kisses I have sought from you, only to pull away with a bloody lip. When we met you promised the world to me, not to mention the moon and the stars. Needless to say you never delivered. Instead I received permanent scars. For some reason I can't let go of you. My heart stops if you're not near. So I pray we stay together even if it means living in fear.

As a little girl Willa loved staying at her grandma's farm every summer. She loved tending to the horses; feeding them, brushing them but most of all riding them. She also loved how sweet the air always smelled, like honeysuckles everywhere. Life was different in Harmony Hills, straight out of a story book. Everyone knew everyone by name. Willa loved going into town with her grandma Tessa Odessa Bessa because of this very reason. She felt...

You have a great family. It really puts a smile on my face when I read about tight knit families with so much love between them. That came through quite nicely. As far as the title goes, maybe if you didn't give so much away. After reading the title and then the story I already knew that something must have happened in order for you not to make it to the concert. Maybe, if the title was something like, "James Taylor: 26 years in waiting". That way the reader is not sure whether or not you mad...
The only thing I hate about drabbles is that they always keep me wanting more. As far as this drabble is concerned, it is well written. The names are very creative, I really enjoyed that. Even though you are working with a word count, I would have liked it if you had gone into a little more detail as far as the war, their history, their weapons, their disguises. And the part about the Lexicon portal, didn't make sense to me. I am not sure I like the ending, "Millenia later their descendants e...

A very beautiful poem. You allow the reader to see what you are trying to say and what you are feeling with ease. Nice flow. I can't comment on punctuation because I am not very good with it at all. The grammar is very good, except for one minor mistake, L1 - litle. I really enjoyed this piece. And can certainly see it getting published. My absolute favorite lines are, "And for just one moment, talk to me. Not as a preacher and a sinner. Not as the adults we now are. But as the brother and si...
OH MY GOD!!! First off let me start with a thank you. I was having such a crappy day and really needed a laugh. And I don't mean a chuckle, this piece had me rolling. I was a bit confused when I began reading this because I was looking for the humor in it. I kept thinking, aw it's a guy and his girlfriend and then it started getting hot & heavy. It was a bit disturbing because the children were watching these two going at it. What kind of people would do this in front of kids, especially whil...

Very moving, powerful and angry but at the same time sincere and from the heart. It is incredible what you went through and to have "survived". I can relate to wanting to be IN LOVED, not just love. Great work. I read your comment to the A-hole living in his happy, joy, joy life. I really feel for you having lost both of your friends and then having to suffer so many hardships with guilty feelings on top of it all because you lived. I'm sure it is pure hell. But I guess we can only try and lo...
